Embajada chilena en Washington D.C. presenta muestra cultural Rapa Nui

The event at the Embassy of Chile in Washington D.C. brought together members of the Rapa Nui Women’s Shore Gathering Association, officers of the Pew Charitable Trusts responsible for international oceans programs, and members of the Washington community interested in marine conservation and concerned for the future of the marine environment of Rapa Nui.

Ambassador Valdés emphasized the importance of preserving the unique marine environment surrounding Easter Island, as well as the entire Pacific coastal waters of Chile. He welcomed especially the group of seven Rapa Nui women, who traveled from the island to Washington to participate in the exhibit with their artisan products and their uplifting songs.
